Digital radiography eliminates traditional, big X-rays and requires only a fraction of the exposure time.
The digital images are available immediately, and can be evaluated with advanced, computer-assisted tools. Dr. Howard uses the VixWin caries (cavity) detection software, which analyzes the image to identify decay. The software enhances the image in ways that make tooth problems more visible than with with traditional x-rays. This enables Dr. Howard to treat problems at a much earlier stage.

What you can’t see can hurt you, and it’s difficult to get a good look at your own teeth. That, however, has changed with the intra oral camera.
We use intraoral cameras in order for you to see what we see inside your mouth. A highly sophisticated, pen-sized camera provides outstanding, instant images you can view with Dr. Howard on a computer screen. With the amount of detail it provides, the early stages of gum disease can be detected, even before you can feel pain. With its 30x magnification, the camera can detect tooth decay in its earliest stages. This helps you and Dr. Howard realistically assess your dental health and decide how to best address it.
This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

When it comes to your safety, we subscribe to state-of-the-art sanitation techniques. All non-disposable instruments are sterilized by an ultrasonic cleaner and a high-heat autoclave. Our self-contained water filtration system creates 99.9% pure water for use in all treatment situations. We only use ADA-approved disinfectants. Each exam room fixture is cleaned and sanitized regularly to eliminate bacteria. We use gloves, masks, eye protection, and barrier covers, as well.
